Salvation
Friend, Have you heard the GOOD NEWS?
News which can heal your affliction of sin
News which can alter your eternal destiny
News which can fill the God-shaped hole in your heart!
God’s Word articulates this good news in I Corinthians 15:1, 3, 5, 11 "I declare unto you the gospel {good news}...how that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures; And that He was seen...and so ye believed."
Please take a few moments and seriously consider what God has written to you, how you may receive eternal life, God’s life!
Your State of Sin
Romans 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"
God views every person as a sinner, missing the mark of His holiness, no one is without sin.
Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"
In the beginning Adam sinned and each of us inherited a sinful nature from him. Sinners beget sinners. This is why we sin.
Your Sentence for Sin
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death;"
wages = earnings or pay
God simply states that death is the payment for sin. Just as an employee receives his pay on payday, so will the sinner receive his just payment on judgement day. Death is not just physical but spiritual. It is separation from God in the Lake of Fire for all eternity.
Revelation 20:14-15 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
Matthew 25:41 "Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:"
Your Savior from Sin
Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Through Christ Jesus dying on the cross in our place, God displayed His matchless love for sinful man. Jesus was our sinless substitute!
2 Corinthians 5:21 "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
Who should have died on the cross for your sins?
Who did die on the cross for your sin?
How many people did Jesus die for?
Does that mean everyone is automatically going to heaven?
Your Sorrow for Sin
2 Corinthians 7:10 "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of:"
Repentance = Is a change of the mind and will. It is turning your back on false doctrine about salvation {baptism, living a good life, etc.} and turning to Jesus Christ as your only hope of Salvation!
Luke 5:32 "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
Your Salvation from Sin
Romans 10:9, 10, 13 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
1 John 5:11-12 "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."
Our parents gave us temporal life, which has a beginning.
{birthday} and an end {death day}. God gives us eternal life, His life! It begins the moment we place our faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior and has no end!
God, in verse 12, talks about two different people. Those who have the Son and have eternal life and those who do not have the Son, do not have eternal life.
God’s life is a gift, Romans 6:23b "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." God freely gives His gift of eternal life to each person that will repent and receive Jesus into their heart!
John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"
